This last week has been full of crazy. Last Friday I got a call saying my mom was going to the hospital and they were doing an emergency surgery! Apparently she had diverticulitus that ruptured causing a hole in her intestines (or colon) and it was pretty bad. My sister and I went to the hospital to keep my dad company while he waited for her to come out of surgery.
The surgeon said the surgery went really well so we were very relieved. She was in the hospital for a week though. It was hard to see my mom like that. I felt so bad for her being in so much pain. My dad was awesome though! He hardly ever left the hospital and was so attentive and so sweet to my mom.
She was released on Thursday and she is so glad to be home. I know my dad is glad to be home too. She is getting better every day.
Our family has never really been through anything like this and I couldn't believe the outpouring of love and support that I felt from my friends. I know my mom had many many prayers said on her behalf and I am so grateful for my friends and the amazing support you all are.
I am so grateful that my mom is okay, I really don't know what I would do without her. I am so lucky to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life and to know that no matter what I will be with my family forever.

Hope she makes a speedy recovery!

How scary! I'm glad your mom is on the mend. Try to talk her out of pulling these types of shenanigans too often. :)
