Time to play catch up...life has been good. Real good.
For Labor Day weekend I drove to Cali with some friends (thanks to my Sis who let us drive her Tahoe so we could all fit in 1 car). We went to the beach and then we went to Bakersfield to visit my friend Kim's parents. It was so much fun!!! It was totally overcast at the beach which was great because it wasn't hot. The water was actually colder than ice water but we went in for a bit anyway. After a few minutes we were totally numb and couldn't feel anything anyway.
Kim's parents were so much fun. Her mom made like 20 lbs of the BEST chicken salad EVER and like 8 dozen rolls and a huge batch of mint brownies. We managed to polish it all off without a problem. There were 7 of us plus Kim's parents & grandpa.
Two weeks ago, after much thought and many many prayers, I decided I needed to sell my house. I want to get out of debt so bad and ever since I lost my job 3 1/2 years ago I haven't been able to get ahead. I finally came to the realization that as long as I have my house I will never be able to get out of debt. SO...we listed it last Saturday and had an offer on Monday. Now its up to the bank to either accept or decline the offer which will take months. In the meantime I am moving back with my parents (next weekend) and my old roomie & her husband are going to rent my house until it sells. By doing this, I should be completely debt free in about a year which will be the biggest relief! HUGE shout out to my parents for letting me move back in with them. Out of all of the kids, I am pretty sure I've moved out and back in the most (I've also been single the longest of any of my siblings so maybe that has something to do with it). It is very sad to say goodbye to my very own home. I've put so much of me into it and I really do LOVE it, but its the right thing to do and it will be okay.
Last Friday I added accident #18 to my list. I was driving back to work from lunch and I was on a small side street sitting in the middle lane waiting to turn left and an idiot was barreling towards me - driving in the middle lane - doing about 60mph. There were cars coming from my direction so I couldn't move out of the way & there was a car next to him in the actual lane so he couldn't move either. Just before getting hit head-on I turned as quickly as I could and he plowed through the back of my car, never slowing down for a second. And before I could even recover - he was gone. Luckily I wasn't seriously injured and my car is fixable.
Then we went on a ward campout Friday night. Loads of fun!
That's my life in a nutshell. Can you dig it?
